We are seeking a passionate, committed, and value-oriented individual to join our team as a Grants Management and Compliance Director.
What You Will Do:
As a Grants Management and Compliance Director, you will be responsible for managing all state and federal grant contracts and compliance. This includes preparing continuation, renewal, and competitive grant and contract proposals to CISHOT’s public funding sources. It also includes reviewing monthly budget and expense reports and reporting on performance to funding sources and external partners. Additionally, you will implement and maintain agency-wide systems to ensure grant and contract compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Review relevant contracts compliance guidelines, policy manuals, and other requirements applicable to funding sources. Communicates with program directors and finance staff in order to make sure requirements are met.
Lead and manage compliance and monitoring activities for the organization and ensure that expectations of funding partners are met.
Responsible for grant tracking, developing internal reporting schedules, writing and compiling reports, and maintaining historical grant and funder records
Work as a point of contact for three primary funders, Texas Education Agency, Heart of Texas Workforce Board, and Texas Department of Family Protective Services.
Assist in the stewarding of stakeholder relationships
Inform relevant staff of grant outcomes, outputs, and other deliverables to ensure compliance
Work closely with Chief Program Officer and Chief Impact Officer to ensure programs are implemented with fidelity
Monitor and manage grant budgets
Assist the CEO in identifying new funding opportunities and preparing compelling proposals for corporate, foundation, and government grants.
This position will not have supervisory responsibilities at its outset.

What We Look for:
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Business, Education, or related field required
At least three (3) years of experience in grant management and grant writing
Experience managing grant-funded programs and budgets, both private and public (state/federal)
Exceptional, above average, writing and oral presentation skills
Project management skills
Expertise in contracts and agreements
Must complete and clear Criminal Background Check.
Spanish speaking preferred
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
Master’s in Social Work, Business, Education, or related field

About Us
Communities In Schools of the Heart of Texas (CISHOT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 1989 as the McLennan County Youth Collaboration to address the effects of poverty on children and respond to the increasing dropout problem. Based in Waco, Texas, CISHOT's service area extends across McLennan, Hill, Bosque, Falls, Freestone, and Limestone Counties.
CISHOT places social services professionals in partner school districts on school campuses to provide academic, behavioral, and social interventions and supports to pre-K-12 students identified as at-risk. CIS then leverages relationships with school administration, local businesses, social service agencies, health care professionals, and parent and volunteer organizations in order to surround students with support, addressing the needs of the whole child. At-risk criteria are based Texas Education Agency standards and is used uniformly across the 8 districts and 26 schools that are served by CISHOT.
Nationally, CIS provides services in more than 2,900 schools in 26 states and the District of Columbia, serving 1.7 million young people and their families every year.
