Right now, in the U.S there are 14.5 million children living in poverty. The collateral effects of being in the margins of society follow those young people as they go to school each day. That's why Communities In Schools works inside k-12 schools to help underserved students reach their potential by offering access to resources.

Our work at Communities In Schools of the Heart of Texas spans 19 schools in 6 districts. Though we've helped thousands of kids stay in school to focus on their education, there is still much work to be done.
