Communities In Schools of the Heart of Texas is grateful for the dedicated leadership of our outgoing Board Chair, Heather Robertson, and excited to welcome Jackye Clayton as our incoming Board Chair.
For the past several years, Heather has provided thoughtful leadership, financial expertise, and an unwavering commitment to our mission. Since joining the Board of Directors in 2017, she has faithfully served in numerous leadership roles, including Treasurer, Finance Committee Chair, Vice Chair, and Board Chair, and will now continue to support the organization as Immediate Past Chair.
As Chief Financial Officer of Security Fire Systems, Heather brought a strategic financial perspective to our board while always keeping students at the center of every decision. Her passion for Communities In Schools stems from a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves access to the education, relationships, and resources they need to succeed. Throughout her service, Heather has championed the importance of meeting students where they are, building trusting relationships, and ensuring they have the support needed to thrive both in school and in life.
We are deeply grateful for Heather's years of service, steady leadership, and lasting impact on our organization.
As we look to the future, we are thrilled to welcome Jackye Clayton as our new Board Chair. Jackye is a nationally recognized leader in talent acquisition, workplace strategy, and inclusive leadership. A respected executive, national speaker, and community advocate, she brings a wealth of experience in building strong organizations and developing people-centered leadership.
Jackye is also deeply rooted in the Waco community. As the mother of two Waco High School graduates and a longtime advocate for education, workforce development, the arts, and nonprofit organizations, she understands the importance of investing in young people and strengthening our community through collaboration.
We are excited for the vision, energy, and leadership Jackye will bring as we continue our mission of surrounding students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
